My Favorite Youtubers
Before I start the listicle here, some preliminary explaining needs to happen. While I do love literature and read a little more than a book a week on average, I am not a passionate BookTube fan. Don’t get me wrong—the creators on BookTube are incredible, but for some reason watching their content never stuck. My side passions? Personal finance, fashion, design, and cooking.
Personal Finance:
Graham Stephan - My all-time favorite youtuber, as of the last year. Graham is so sharp and has a lot of great advice for young people just getting started with their interests in personal finance. I’ve really learned so much about credit card churning, investing, and real estate from watching his channel. The other thing I really love about Graham is that between his main channel and his second channel, he posts every single day, which I love because I always have something to tune into as I am relaxing at the end of the day.
Dave Ramsey - Mr. Ramsey is someone who my mother would tune into on the radio when I was a young child. Now, I like hearing his advice for people in absurd situations, because he is so quick on his feet, especially when it comes to debt management.
Cooking:
Joshua Weissman - As you’ll see in the coming days and weeks on this blog, a lot of the recipes I use to cook from come from Josh. He’s a huge inspiration to me in my food journey.
Fashion:
Shea Whitney - I’ve been a member of Shea’s audience since before she became a full-time youtuber, and I love the sense of sophistication she brings to her style. She has a lot of great tips and hacks, and a hilariously charismatic delivery.
Molly Burke - Molly has a lot to bring to YouTube as a fashion reviewer and influencer. She is the only youtuber I have merch from, actually (the I love you so matcha mug), because I really support her brand and her ability to represent the blind.
Justine Leconte Official - Justine is a Germany-based fashion designer from France. My favorite videos of hers are her seasonal updates on current fashion trends, as shown by seasonal runway shows.
Design:
Architectural Digest - I recently read Diane Keaton’s book “Let’s Just Say It Wasn’t Pretty,” and in it she talks about how much inspiration she draws from AD for her home renovation projects. And, while I am not renovating or decorating a home right now, I have to agree with Mrs. Keaton in that AD has proven hugely inspirational to my current thoughts and approaches to design.
Brittany Vasseur - Brittany is a stay at home mom and youtuber who focuses largely on home organization projects and health on her channel. She also has a wicked cool essential oils line. My favorite video from her channel is her cleaning out her mom’s hoarder room…something about the process and then the eventual reveal was hugely satisfying to me.
Living Big in a Tiny house - This one is a relatively new channel for me, but after watching a couple of videos about tiny houses in Europe I became fascinated with the DIY nature of the tiny house movement, as well as the ingenuity of the people behind these homes. There is a lot to gain from this channel from an interior design perspective, as well.
teetharejade - Ein relativ neuer Kanal für mich, ich mag teetharejades persönlicher Stil und ihr Raumgefühl. Ihre Arbeit als Zeitschriftenredakteurin interessiert mich auch.
Bloggers:
Simply Nailogical - Christine has been someone I’ve been watching since high school, when she was still doing real nail art. I love her personality as well as her relationship with Ben, and can’t wait for what she will deliver next in terms of her impeccable brand. She also has a nail polish brand called Holo Taco, which is absolutely amazing (I have more nail polish than I would like to admit).
Safiya Nygaard - Safiya’s channel is so fun—she likes to do bad makeup science videos and try out different (and usually new/popular) goods and services so we don’t have to. She also recently got married to her long-time boyfriend Tyler Williams.
AmazingPhil - An oldie but a goodie. Phil makes me laugh, and has since I was a Sophomore in high school. Plus, we both have a pair of the horrendous Nicholas Cage pants, so what more could we ask for?
vlogbrothers - The last old channel on the list, Hank and John are two brothers who make great content for great causes around the world. It’s insane how many projects they have brought to fruition, and I still enjoy watching their short rants and conversation starters to date.
Felix von der Laden - Ach, Team Spielkind. Ich hab’ Felixs Kanal für nicht viele Zeit geschaut, aber ich mag seine Energie. (Und auch die Autos…Guck mal und du wirst sie sehen).
