J. Hannah, a micro-Review

I have wanted to get a bottle (or two) of J. Hannah nail polish for a little over a year now, and a few weeks ago I finally decided to treat myself and try it.

For those of you who are new to J. Hannah, the brand is a luxury jewelry brand that also has a line of nail polishes “that consider the gracefulness of hands, and the role of subtle color as an element in the considered wardrobe.” They have a lot of muted color combinations that dress up and down, ready for any occasion. Plus, the reviews are spectacular.

One of the first things that I noticed right out of the box was the superb packaging. The front of each nail polish box is embossed with a frame, and once opened the nail polishes themselves have a crepe label on them, which is a far cry from any drugstore nailpolish brand. I got two colors, Dune (a sandy greige) and Blue Nudes (a seafaring navy).

The experience of actually painting one’s nails is markedly different from using, for example, Essie, which is one of my top picks just because of their variety and consistency of products. Because the bottles themselves are more of a rectangular prism shape, the brush is about 1.5 times the length of Essie brushes. This brush length made painting my toes quite awkward, but painting my fingers quite seamless.

The color applied evenly, and was pigmented enough that a single coat did the trick. Here, I’ve put a glossy taco over it for a high-glam effect @Simply.

Overall, the nail polish is 3 or 4 times more expensive than the run-of-the-mill drugstore choices, but if a higher quality and a more pigmented polish matters to you as it does to me, then I would say go for it. The brand gets a gold star from me so far.

Thanks for checking out this micro-Review. I will be updating it with more photos and comments as I get some more wear out of both colors. Let me know if y’all have any specific questions or other factors about the nail polish that you would like me to consider in my updates.

Cheers,

Mackenzie

Update 11. Mai: The color in these polishes is really incredible. I removed the polish on my hands after noticing some chipping one week after application (with a top coat). The pedicure that I did lasted 3+ weeks. Great experience overall so far!
